General Info:
White Oak and Red Oak Plantation have unsurpassed Alabama deer hunting;
but, White Oak also offers the best of Alabama turkey
hunting, quail hunting, and largemouth bass fishing (as well as bream,
catfish, and crappie). Mixed bag hunts are also a special feature at White
Oak. They include: cotton tail rabbits, red & grey squirrels and
crows. Most of the hunts are either a three or four day package which
includes all lodging, meals, daily maid service, field transportation,
guide service and limited game preparation.
White Oak is now in its 25th year of operation and is
considered by many to be the standard that all other hunting lodges must
meet. This is based on large part to a strict adherence to a Selective
Harvesting Program for the entire 25 years.
The number of hunters on each hunt is limited to insure a
quality hunting experience for everyone. White Oak accommodates up to 18
hunters for each deer hunt and up to six hunters for each turkey hunt;
although, guests may be in camp along with those hunting, as we welcome
wives and other family members to accompany their hunters.
Safety is a primary concern and is covered in detail in
the Welcome Book which is sent to each new hunter before he arrives and is
also included in a information booklet in each room.
White Oak Plantation has been managed specifically
for trophy whitetail deer and turkey for over 25 years and is now offering
some of the best largemouth bass, bream and bluegill fishing in Alabama.
White Oak Plantation,
sets the standard for all whitetail deer and turkey hunting lodges in the
Southeast. It has been featured in all leading outdoor magazines and
numerous outdoor TV shows. With over 16,000 acres of prime deer and
turkey habitat, our hunting lodge offers fair chase whitetail deer hunts
and fully guided spring gobbler hunts. We don't guarantee
success on a trophy deer or turkey, but we do guarantee a truly quality
experience!
White Oak Plantation
fair chase deer hunting offers the hunter an opportunity to take
home a trophy whitetail deer. Whether you hunt with a bow, rifle,
shotgun, muzzleloader, or handgun. To encourage our young people to
participate in hunting, we are offering Special Youth Deer Hunts for the 2nd
year and Family Special Deer Hunt are offered during vacations
times of the season.
We encourage each and everyone to visit White
Oak Plantation and experience the finest whitetail deer hunting, spring
gobbler hunting, and largemouth bass & bream fishing in the
nation. We also offer a state-of-the-art 16-station sporting clays course
and gun instruction. Whatever outdoor adventure you prefer, we've got it!
FISHING:
Largemouth Bass fishing, specifically the
new aggressive strains of Tiger Bass and Gorilla Bass is the favorite
outdoor recreation at White Oak from early spring until fall. Largemouth
bass over 11 pounds have been taken from the Lodge Lake. Creel limits
are changed frequently so it is best to check on the limits before arrival.
If largemouth bass are not your "cup of tea", how about some
Bluegill or Bream fishing. Good stringers of Bream are being taken on a
regular basis and all that is needed is lots of crickets and worms. A
fisherman may take both bass and bream from 6 of the 8 lakes
located on the property.
With proper management practices and testing provided by Auburn
University and American Sportfish the Bass, Bream and Bluegills are thriving!
If a fisherman needs a change of scenery, he can move between the 6
lakes on the property that are accessed only by bank fishing.
Two new large 36 acre lakes have just been opened. These lakes are
fished by boat and electric motor and are catch and release only.
Although stocked less than 3 years, some of the Largemouth Bass have
reached 5 pounds in weight. Bream and Bluegill fishing are also
available in these lakes.

are always available.
SHOOTING SPORTS:
White Oak Plantation is recognized as one of the top sporting clays
courses in the nation. The course winds through lush woodlands, around a
thirteen acre lake, amid beautiful rolling hills, pine and oak hardwood
forests. Every effort has been made to retain the natural beauty of the land,
not disturb the bountiful wildlife that abounds here and still give the
shooter, whether beginner or expert, a challenging experience. This is a
completely automatic "state of the art" course with 14 stations that
provide challenging shots for all skill levels. The stations are changed
monthly to provide a different look for Shooting Members and event shooters,
as well.
The essence of the White Oak experience is the
likelihood of discovering a deer fawn that has no fear of humans, flushing a
family of bobwhite quail that reside there, having a raccoon or possum wander
through, seeing deer at the feeder while you shoot the Five Stand or stop to
let a flock of turkeys move through. There have been 10 generations of
wildlife that have been born on the clays course.
OUR FACILITIES:
While you are at White Oak we encourage you to leave your cares behind and
escape to the ease of rustic southern living. Each room is themed and
decorated in southern hunting tradition. You might be in either the
Raccoon, Bobcat, Quail, Goose, Fox, Dove, Duck, Bass or Bream room.
All prices quoted in our literature are based on double
occupancy, although private rooms are available upon request, if available.
Some rooms have two double beds and a single bed which will handle a small
family. Each room has a private bath. There are no phones or televisions.
The Executive Suite may be rented as a unit for families or
large groups who would like their own sitting and eating area and kitchen. The
suite will accommodate 8 people in three bedrooms and two baths with a sleeper
sofa if needed. You may eat in the restaurant or do your own cooking. There is
a phone and television in this unit.
Full linen service and daily maid service is provided for
all guests. All you will need to bring are your personal belongings and the
equipment for your specific outdoor activity.
Trophy Lounge
The trophy lounge is a warm wonderful room with twinkling
antler chandeliers and sconces. The walls are decorated with the harvests of
many years of hunting successes and even a few antique fishing lures to
capture your imagination. This is a gathering area where tales of shooting and
hunting can be shared with friends or new acquaintances. The family may gather
to enjoy a favorite television program or the fire in the fireplace. Enjoy
your favorite libation from the custom built bar before moving to the dining
room for your evening meal. This room may be used for wedding, receptions or
large parties. Two hundred or more may be comfortably accommodated.
Dining Hall
White Oak has full service dining to accommodate
individuals, families, and corporate visitors. Guests are treated to family
style meals served in the southern tradition, from antique sideboards and
dining on antique English draw leaf tables.
Evening meals offer an unlimited feast of entrees, vegetables, salads,
hot breads and our special homemade desserts. A variety of wines are available
with the evening meals. You may experience an entree of southern fried quail
or catfish, prime rib, White's Oaks version of shrimp gumbo or even fried
turkey breast. Desserts range from Mama's Apple Cobbler to a southern style
cheese cake topped with fruit.
Hunting packages include three meals a day, hors d'oeuvres in the
trophy lounge after the afternoon hunt and cold drinks and fresh fruit always
available. Our Executive Chef will be happy to prepare a special menu for your
diet requirements.
Lakeside Pavilion
The lakeside pavilion is an ideal site for your next company picnic, a
family reunion, private barbecue or any occasion that calls for a location
that is new and unique. The pavilion may seat 400 people comfortably and is
suitable for any large gatherings such as weddings, banquets, proms, or trade
show exhibitions.
A full service menu is offered that includes everything from prime rib
to hot dogs, whatever best suits your occasion. White Oak will prepare and
serve your meals to your preference so that you will have the opportunity to
relax and enjoy your guests. As the sun is setting you may lounge beside the
lake and enjoy a bonfire that will take you back to a simpler, easier life.
