GENERAL INFORMATION:
Whether
it is duck or deer hunting you are looking for, Cypress Point Hunting
Lodge is the perfect place.
We are located in North Louisiana about 15 minutes above Ferriday,
Louisiana. Our location places us perfectly between the Tensas and
Mississippi Rivers such that we are literally a landing strip for mallard
ducks!! This central location in the Mississippi Flyway gives us some of
the best duck hunting in Louisiana. At Cypress Point we have 1050 acres of
prime hunting land that allows for all types of hunting. We offer hunting
in flooded timber, cypress flats, flooded corn fields, sloughs, lake
bottom water holes, and a huge lake.
As you can see, if there are ducks in the state they will be
here. The deer hunting at Cypress Point is also first rate! We reside in
Tensas Parish which year in and year out produces some of the biggest
bucks in Louisiana. Our property features plentiful food plots, beautiful
lake bottoms, cutovers, agricultural fields and CRP tree hunting. This
provides the habitat which experienced deer hunters know is required to
produce top notch bucks. The massive, big body, heavy horned monsters of
your dreams are walking around our place right now!!!
DEER HUNTING:
Many
things are done at Cypress Point to ensure our deer herd receives
everything they need. The most important part in our management program is
to allow our bucks to reach maturity, while culling certain bucks from the
herd. We also work to keep our doe numbers down, which results in a high
buck to doe ratio.
Without the proper nutrition it would be hard for our bucks
to reach their maximum antler development. During the spring and summer
months we supplemental feed our deer with high protein deer pellets and
corn through feeders. Food plots are maintained throughout the property.
The food plots consist of soybeans, rye grass, cowpeas, and clover in the
spring and summer, with wheat, oats, clover, and winter peas in the fall.
Mineral sites are also placed throughout the property. Using
this management here at Cypress Point we have an all year smorgasbord to
keep our deer healthy and happy.
DUCK
HUNTING:
Cypress
Point offers duck hunting in an area that is known throughout the state
for consistently producing ducks, especially mallards. Rightfully so, as
the duck habitat on our property is second to none. We hunt a portion of a
500 acre lake which is covered in cypress trees and draws ducks straight
out of the Mississippi flyway. Fletchers Lake is so overrun with duck seed
and widgeon grass that no duck can resist its draw.
We
also offer duck hunting in flooded timber and corn fields. These diverse
hunting conditions virtually ensure a steady flow of ducks!!
 
LODGING:
Cypress Point Hunting Lodge offers first class
accommodations!
Our onsite 3000+ square foot lodge boasts an interior and exterior
composed of all cypress. The Lodge can accommodate 25+ hunters at one
time. Inside you will be greeted by an enormous common area with walls
covered in mounted game. The common area offers a big screen TV, a
regulation size pool table, and plenty of furniture to lounge around on.
Additionally, there is an 80ft front porch for lounging and socializing
with newly made friends. Lodge members and guests will be assigned to a
bunk room and will share community restrooms. The Lodge is truly first
rate and pictures cannot not do it justice.
